About Blue Sage
Nepali and English couple Rick and Lin Singh founded Blue Sage Trekking in 2001 as a non-profit making concern. Our aim was to introduce trekkers to the beauty of the Himalayas in Nepal and Darjeeling through sustainable camping treks that would benefit local people. At the same time we wanted to raise funds for charities and worthy causes in the Himalayas and in the UK. After more than twenty years of fulfilling this dream through so many memorable expeditions with our trekkers and our wonderful Nepali camping crews, nowadays we help friends to organise treks in Nepal on an ad hoc basis. We are so happy that our idea of doing something worthwhile all those years ago, has led to more than £50,000 being generated for many causes close to our hearts and the hearts of our trekkers who have chosen many of the beneficiaries. In addition, all our trekkers have been able to experience the warmth and hospitality of the Nepali people as well as the magnificence of the Himalayas.
Between 2003 and 2004 Lin and Rick undertook a 1000km unsupported trek from West to East across the Nepal Himalayas to report for the Royal Geographical Society, earning Fellowship of the RGS in the process. The story of their journey was published by the British Mountaineering Council in Summit Magazine.
